Organisers of the 2020 Hauraki Coromandel Business Awards are postponing the event due to the Covid-19 outbreak. Committee chair Kate Rigg says “This is a very challenging time for businesses in our region. We’re going to push ‘pause’ on the awards while local business people concentrate on what they need to do to keep their operations running, and to keep their staff, customers, and clients safe.” For one-to-one business advice, contact the Waikato regional business development agency Te Waka - www.tewaka.nz - to connect with one of their advisors. Kate Rigg says it’s important as ever to Shop Local. “Where possible, do support our local businesses. Whether that means using local delivery services, asking friends or family to collect orders made over the phone, or by buying a voucher now to put away for Christmas. Everything counts.” Entries for this year’s awards were due to open on April 1, 2020, with the gala awards evening on October 1. Organisers will review plans over the coming weeks and months.
