Rubbish and Recycling
Please note: Because Queen's Birthday Monday is a public holiday, rubbish collections will be a day later during the week that follows.

Black wheelie bin and green crate fortnightly schedule will be on WEEK 2.
Please have all refuse/recyclables at the kerb by 7:30am on the day of collection.
If you're leaving before your collection day or miss the rubbish collection because you woke up too late (not that something like that would ever happens to you, nooooo) please drop your official rubbish bags and recycling at your local refuse transfer station FREE* of charge.
*You must have all rubbish in official blue bags to be accepted free of charge by our transfer stations. Recycling just goes in the appropriate bins.
Refuse Transfer Stations
Our refuse transfer stations, at Coromandel Town, Matarangi, Pauanui, Tairua, Thames, Whangamata and Whitianga, will be open their normal hours on Saturday May 30. On Sunday they close at 5:30pm and on Monday 1 June 1 they will open late until 7:30pm.
Council Office Hours
Council's physical offices will be closed on Monday 2 June.
All Council Service Centres will open again on Tuesday 3 June as follows:
Thames
8:00-5:00
Coromandel Town
9:00-4:00
Mercury Bay
8:30-4:00
Whangamata
8:30-4:00
Council Service Centres do not open on weekends or Public Holidays.
The after hours call centre operates 24/7 even on public holidays. We always have staff rostered to take phone calls. You can always call us on 07 868 0200.
District Libraries
Thames, Tairua and Mercury Bay District Libraries will be closed on Monday 2 June and will open again 9:00am Tuesday morning following Queen's Birthday weekend.

Community Libraries
Whangamata Community Library - open Saturday 10am-2pm, closed on Sunday and Monday, open again 10am Tuesday morning, 2 June, following Queen's Birthday weekend.
Hahei Community Library - Open 10am-12pm Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
Pauanui Community Library - open Saturday 9:30am-12pm, closed on Sunday and Monday and all the following week to move to new location.
Coromandel Town Community Library - open Saturday 10am-12pm, closed on Sunday and Monday, open Tuesday 10am-1pm as usual.
