Following the 77 responses received for the survey on the proposed hoggin path that ran over December and January, it seems the Pauanui community would like the hoggin path closer to the dunes on the main beach than to the houses, and more information on the costs. The Pauanui Community Office are holding a public meeting and our Coastal Management Team will be presenting for anyone that would like more information on the project. The proposed walkway and dune zone extension would run along the coastal reserve fronting properties 17 to 23 Bonanza Place and 18 to 26 Champion Place. The proposal includes planting and encourages people to stay on the track to protect the dunes and hope other areas will see the benefit of this future proofing work. The detailed presentation to the Tairua-Pauanui Community Board including the projected budget costs can be viewed here. Click here to view the full concept details.
