Within the Thames-Coromandel District, there are three District Libraries and six Community Libraries.

District Libraries

Thames-Coromandel District Libraries is made up of three library branches - Thames Library, Mercury Bay Library, and Tairua Library.

Opening Hours

All our our District Libraries are open during the following hours:

Monday 9am to 5pm
Tuesday 9am to 5pm 
Wednesday 9:30am to 5pm
Thursday 9am to 5pm
Friday 9am to 5pm
Saturday 9am to 12pm
Sunday Closed
Although closed on Sundays, you can still enjoy many of your favourite books on Wheelers ePlatform.

 

Upcoming closures:     

  •  Our District Libraries will close for the public holiday marking Matariki (Friday 28th June). 

 

Community Libraries

There are six independently-run Community Libraries on the Coromandel Peninsula.

Community Libraries are run by the local community instead of our district council. They may receive some funding from the local body or other community groups. Please get in touch with your local Community Library to learn more about their hours, rules and how to join.
