Being prepared for the worst and knowing what to do in emergency situations could save your life and protect your property. 

Here's a quick checklist of the basics

• Do I have an emergency plan for the hazards in my area?
• Do I have 3 days of emergency supplies (including medicine)?
• Do you have an accessible Go Bag packed?
• Do I need assistance, and if so, who can I ask to help me?

• Follow unfolding events on our Council Facebook page.
• Download GeoNet Geological Hazard App from the App Store.
• Listen to your local radio stations: More FM 97.2FM, The Breeze 90.8FM, Radio NZ 756AM/101.4FM, Newstalk ZB 1080AM/ 89.4 FM/97FM and C95 FM 94FM
