2013/2014 Community Grants

Community Grants help local organizations pay for specific projects or maintenance of facilities that benefit our community.

Applications for the 2013/2014 Community Grants funding round have been assessed by each Community Board area and allocated as shown below.

The groups that have been allocated funding are required to complete the Expenditure Declaration form following expenditure of the grant prior to 30 June 2014.

Coromandel-Colville Community Board

At its 9 September 2013 meeting, the Coromandel-Colville Community Board allocated an amount of $17,500 from the Community Grant fund amongst those that applied for funding in 2013/2014 as follows:

Mercury Bay Community Board

At its 10 September 2013 meeting, the Mercury Bay Community Board allocated an amount of $55,000 from the Community Grant fund amongst those that applied for funding in 2013/2014 as follows:

Tairua-Pauanui Community Board

At its 9 September 2013 meeting, the Tairua-Pauanui Community Board allocated an amount of $34,000 from the Community Grant fund amongst those that applied for funding in 2013/2014 as follows:

Whangamata Community Board

At its 9 September 2013 meeting, the Whangamata Community Board allocated an amount of $8,250 from the Community Grant fund amongst those that applied for funding in 2013/2014 as follows:

Whangamata Gymnastics Club To purchase new floor mats - current mats are 30 years old , torn and very heavy to move and rollup. 1,500
Tairua/Pauanui Land Search and Rescue To replace radios older than five years to meet the new standards. Old radios will be donated to the Whangamata Tramping Club. 2,500
Whangamata Amateur Swimming Club To purchase resources for a significant number of young children learning to swim. The club is not adequately resourced for this. 600
Enterprise Whangamata To secure the Pohutukawa Festival which has gone into recess 500
Whangamata Croquet Club Inc To help with our on-going lawn mowing and maintenance costs. 500
Whangamata RSA Assist with costs for ANZAC Day 2014. Due to increased numbers attending the RSA is suffering large losses by providing this service to the Community. 400

 

Event sponsorship

There are a few ways to access events sponsorship funding:

  • For Thames-based community events please apply for funding via the Thames Community Board Events Sponsorship programme
  • For major events, please apply for funding via the Major Events Sponsorship programme
  • For community based events in the Mercury Bay, Tairua/Pauanui, Coromandel/Colville and Whangamata wards/areas, please apply via the Community Grant programme (on this page), using the "Community Events Application Form"
