Have your say on the future of the Whitianga Esplanade area

Funding has been earmarked in our 2024-2034 Long Term Plan (LTP) for 2027-2030 to improve the Whitianga Esplanade area. These upgrades aim to support the growing activities in the area while addressing safety concerns.

Over the last few months, we’ve been having initial discussions with local waterfront users, businesses, and key stakeholders to understand their needs and aspirations in the early stages of exploring options for the Esplanade redevelopment.

Based on this feedback, six concept designs have been proposed for the development of the marine, waterfront, and Robinson boat ramp areas. We want to hear from the wider community which concept designs are preferred and any further suggestions for improvements.

Your feedback will shape the future of the Whitianga Esplanade and help guide the Council’s decision-making process. Don’t miss this opportunity to have your say.
