Feedback open until 26 October 2024

We want to hear your thoughts on how to improve and organise the land at Matarangi’s Omara Reserve (by the boat ramp). Our goal is to ensure this area remains a welcoming open space for the entire community, particularly for families with children.

We’ve spoken to various local groups about this space and now is your chance to be part of the conversation.

We invite you to think about what this means for the reserve and how we can make it a more enjoyable place for everyone. We are looking for suggestions that focus on improving the usability and family-friendliness of the space, such as:

  • Ideas for family-friendly amenities (like picnic areas or play structures)
  • Safety enhancements (like better signage or designated walking paths)
  • Suggestions for recreational activities that align with passive recreation.

Your feedback will help us identify the most important improvements for Omara reserve. Once we gather your ideas, we’ll summarise them to show what the community wants. This summary will inform our operational decisions, help us plan future improvements and decide what changes to prioritise for our next Long Term Plan. If there are big ideas, we’ll also share those with the Community Board.
