Whangamata Community Hall

All Hall hirers/users must adhere to the COVID-19 Protection Framework at Red rules as specified by the Government.

COVID-19 Protection Framework at Red:

General Bookings:

-  Limit of 50 people in the Supper Room, 140 people in the Existing hall, 200 people in the Auditorium, 20 people on the mezzanine floor, 50 people in the mini theatre and 36 people in the foyer to Auditorium main entrance.

-  Anyone entering the Hall must scan in using the QR code (strongly preferred method) or using another contact tracing mechanism

-  Face coverings are mandatory for anyone over 12 years of age. If the booking is for the purposes of exercise then the face covering can be removed during that time.

-  The hirer has the right to determine whether having a vaccine pass is a condition of entry for anyone taking part in their booking.

Event bookings:

-  Anyone entering the Hall must scan in using the QR code (strongly preferred method) or using another contact tracing mechanism.

-  Face coverings are encouraged.

-  The decision on whether to operate an event using vaccine passes or not sits with the organiser, with different rules applying depending on the decision.

-  If an event is run with vaccination passes being a condition of entry then no limits on numbers apply as long as they don't exceed the facilities capacity limit of 50 people in the Supper Room, 140 people in the Existing hall, 200 people in the Auditorium, 20 people on the mezzanine floor, 50 people in the mini theatre and 36 people in the foyer to Auditorium main entrance.

-  If an event is run without vaccination passes being a condition of entry then numbers are limited to up to 50 people and close contact events can not take place.

  • (fire safety wardens are required for bookings which will have more than 300 people)
  • Tiered seating for 193 is available in the Auditorium only.  Tables and chairs to seat approximately 200 people is also available.

Internet/Wifi is available at Whangamata Hall - please request code at time of completing application form.

Events with amplified music are subject to specific noise control conditions.

  • Full kitchen facilities available (oven, dishwasher etc.) 
  • There is a large car park adjacent to the hall.
  • There is a foot operated hand sanitising station installed in the foyer
