Building Consent Exemptions

You are likely to require a building consent before you start any building work unless the work falls into the category of exempt building work. Even if you don't need a building consent, all works must be completed in accordance with the Building Code. 

If your building work falls into the exempt category you can apply here for an exemption using our online consenting system.
