If you are a Building Compliance Officer looking for challenging and rewarding work, then we want to hear from you.

The Coromandel Peninsula’s population is booming which means an exciting period of growth. We have a position available for someone interested in applying their sound knowledge of the building industry legislation and NZ building code for monitoring, compliance and enforcement activities on new builds, amendments and exciting new projects. This is a permanent fulltime position based in our Thames Office.

Reporting to our Building Unit Manager within the Operations Group this role is varied and busy; so you will need to be very well organised and consistent in setting, prioritising and meeting realistic deadlines, with meticulous attention to detail, be highly motivated and have the ability to cope with high workloads.

Ideally you will be someone who is both physically fit and mentally agile and who can think outside the square to find innovative solutions.  You will be a self-starter with an eye for detail and with robust relationship building skills, you’ll then fit in with our team of professionals and still have a laugh or two.

Our Thames-Coromandel District Council is one of the largest employers in The Coromandel. We value highly skilled, community focused people who strive to make our strategic plans come to life, in return for competitive pay and ongoing professional development and support.

This is an opportunity to work in a great organisation where integrity, respect, innovation and teamwork are valued, where a diverse environment is celebrated and flexibility is promoted.

If you are looking for a fresh challenge and you’re excited by the potential to add value to our Council and communities with your outstanding knowledge, skills and initiative, then let’s have a chat.
