Whangamata Community Strategic Plan

A new Community Strategic Plan has been developed and you can get involved in making the goals happen. Consultations on the plan ran from 23 March to 23 April 2015, but you can still get involved.

Whangamata Community Strategic Plan

It's your community and your future, so you were asked what you want for Whangamata over the next decade.

In preparing to create the strategic plan, the Whangamata Community Board came up with five key strategic objectives and 16 critical actions that we believe will help retain everything we all love about Whangamata today; while setting it up for an even better future.

The objectives and actions for Whangamata were included in a short summary of key objectives and actions which went out for public consultation in March/April 2015.

The feedback received in this consultation was incorporated into the community strategic plan, in order to help capture and retain your priorities. The plan is being used to inform/influence Council's budgeting in the Annual Plan and/or Long Term Plan.

The Community Plan is a reflection of our shared aspirations. We will achieve these goals working together.

How do I contribute?

The strategic community plan is forming the basis for further discussions and workshops with the community, so there's plenty of scope for people to get involved. Dates for these will be advertised as they are planned. If you are interested in being further involved in helping to develop this plan please get in touch with the Whangamata Community Board.
