Protected Disclosures Policy

All public sector organisations are required to have published internal procedures in place for receiving and dealing with information about serious wrongdoing. This policy sets out how this will be done.

The purpose of this policy is to promote the public interest by:

  • Facilitating the disclosure and investigation of matters of serious wrongdoing in Thames-Coromandel District Council or by Thames-Coromandel District Council; and
  • Protecting Employees who, in accordance with this policy and the Protected Disclosures Act 2000, make disclosures of information about serious wrongdoing in Thames-Coromandel District Council or by Thames-Coromandel District Council.

The policy sets out the procedures for an allegation of serious wrongdoing to be made and the obligations of Council to act on any such allegations.
