Community Grants 2017

The 2017/2018 Community Board Grants Fund closed at 4pm on Friday 4 August 2017. Community boards allocated the funding at their meetings in August through October.

Community Grants 2017

If you are part of an organisation that provides a community service, activity or event that is not for profit, you could be eligible for one of our community grants.

Community Grants help local organisations pay for specific projects or maintenance of facilities that benefit our community. 

Each Community Board area has a contestable grants pool to encourage and support not-for-profit organisations which have a positive impact on the community.

The grant values available in each area are:

  • Thames Community Grants - $25,000
  • Thames Community Events Grants - $15,000
  • Coromandel/Colville Community Grants - $13,500
  • Mercury Bay Community Grants - $20,000
  • Tairua/Pauanui Community Grants - $37,000
  • Whangamata Community Grants - $30,000

Thames Community Board

Thames Coast Community Kindergarten To pay for building consent fees for extending existing building and installing a new kitchen, staff toilet and storage areas $3,000
*The Coromandel Heritage Trust To part fund a project to catalogue and present the collection of A&G Price Foundry records $3,000
 *Thames Museum Society  To mount an exhibition to preserve the stories of A&G Price Foundry $6,000
 *These two grants are conditional upon the two groups working together to catalogue/preserve and present these records

Coromandel-Colville Community Board

The Board retained $1,713.21 of its $13,500 fund to allocate later in the 2017-18 financial year.

 $17,710 was allocated out of the Board's $20,000 community grants and $20,000 events funds.
