Long Term Plan submissions closing soon 13 April 2018 There are three days left for submissions on our 2018-2028 Long Term Plan and our Mayor Sandra Goudie wants to hear from you. Click to watch video. "We've had hundreds of submissions from residents, ratepayers, community groups and businesses around the Coromandel so far," says Mayor Sandra. "Keep it up." Our major proposals include a concept for a sub-regional aquatic facility to replace the Thames pool, taking on maintenance responsibility for 24 currently unmaintained Council roads, sealing the rest of the Wentworth Valley Road and an extension of Pottery Lane in Coromandel Town to relieve congestion. We are also proposing to remove rates remissions available for second dwellings and to increase the amount of rating we take for uniform charges - applied to services where everyone benefits the same amount. "The Long Term Plan isn't just about what we think is best as your elected Council. This is your opportunity to tell us what you want to see in your community when it comes to Council services and facilities," says Mayor Sandra. "A Long Term Plan is about looking to the future, and I'm especially encouraging young people in our district to think about the life and community they want to build for themselves here," she says. "We are your Council. We look forward to hearing from our residents and ratepayers on what they think is important about the next 10 years and beyond." "So make sure you get a submission in to us by 4pm on Monday 16 April, because it's your money, your community, and your future." For more information on how to have your say see www.tcdc.govt.nz/ltp.
