What's next with our Community Plans 16 August 2019 Thank you to the 516 people who submitted their feedback to our Community Plans survey and told us what they think about our activities and services. Knowing what each community values will help your Community Board and Council make more informed decisions around funding and to prioritise the services and activities that are most important to your community. Congratulations to Jennifer Chalmers from Tairua for completing our survey and winning the i-pad (pictured right). We have also collated feedback from a series of focus group meetings held early this year, along with what you have told us in the survey, and following local government elections in October 2019, we will be seeking a direction from the new Community Boards on further rounds of consultation. We are currently working on draft community plans for Thames, Coromandel-Colville, Mercury Bay North, Mercury Bay Central, Mercury Bay South, Tairua-Pauanui and Whangamata, building on existing community plans and what you have already told us. All seven plans will include actions and values that apply to the whole area of the plan, as well as specific actions and values that apply to each individual settlement. We aim to finalise the new plans in early 2020. To view the current plans and for more information visit tcdc.govt.nz/communityplans.
