Seeking interest in potential marina berths within Coromandel Harbour

27 November 2017

For some time we have been talking with a number of marina developers about the potential for developing a new marina somewhere within the Coromandel Harbour (specific site to be determined).

We now need to gauge whether there is any demand likely from existing and potential mooring holders, recreational fishers and boaties for a marina if one is ever built - and if so - what size marina would be needed.

We are targeting recreational boaties and fishers to get comments and feedback - and in particular whether they are specifically interested in purchasing a marina berth in the future if one is ever developed within this area.

"This is about making sure we have the marine facilities to cope with the demand from commercial and recreational fishing interests within the Harbour," says Mayor Sandra Goudie.

The survey can be viewed and filled out on this  webpage here. or you can also do it through our  online consultation portal here.

An indicatiion of numbers interested in marina berths will give potential marina developers some context on whether it is a viable prospect or not.
