Featuring an international line up of DJs Jazzy Jeff, David "Ram Ram" Rodigan & Dub FX, plus an amazing local cast including L.A.B, Avantdale Bowling Club, JessB, Bailey Wiley, Tunes of I, Chaii and Silva MC.

Great news if you’re already heading to the Fat Freddy’s concert is that there’ll be free shuttle buses running from Thames i-SITE, 200 Mary Street at 3pm, 4pm and 5pm. Shuttles will then be leaving the concert at 9pm, 9.30pm and 10.30pm. All buses will be stopping off at Rhodes Park on the way there and back.

Whangamata Summer Festival Craft Markets


December 27 and 28, Williamson Park, Whangamata

Featuring a huge variety of craft, art, kitchen, clothing,  jewellery and food stalls... plus live music from local artists... the markets are the largest in the region boasting more than130 stalls.

The Extravaganza Fair


Friday 27 December  - Sunday 29 December, Danby Field, Thames

The Extravaganza Fair is a family affair, it is a free entry, fun day out with something for everyone.

Bringing to NZ a unique style of interesting market stalls, arts and craft, food, musical entertainment, circus shows, performers, Kiwi-style NZ tiny homes, including open home and kids shows and games. The fair is bringing back the 'old school', join in the sack races, tug of wars and musical bean bags and be in to win prizes.

L.A.B with Mako Road and Soaked Oats  

28 December, 6pm - 11pm at the Coroglen Tavern.

Recently named by Radio New Zealand as New Zealand’s Best Live Act, L.A.B. is gearing up for another massive summer period. These shows will be the first since the release of L.A.B’s third album in three years. The album continues to build on the momentum that has seen them become a favourite on the NZ festival circuit.

This show at the legendary Coroglen Tavern will see L.A.B. performing alongside Mako Road and Soaked Oats, two acts who have also seen sold out audiences across Australia and NZ through 2019.

These shows will see three of NZ's best live acts combining for two epic shows. Tickets available now from Eventfinda.

Fat Freddy's Drop comes to Thames

Great news for Thames residents heading to the Fat Freddy’s concert at the Thames Racecourse on 28 December, there will be free shuttle buses running from Thames iSite to Fat Freddy's Drop concert. Shuttles will be leaving the i-SITE, 200 Mary Street at 3pm, 4pm and 5pm. Shuttles will then be leaving the concert at 9pm, 9.30pm and 10.30pm. All buses will be stopping off at Rhodes Park on the way there and back.

Drax Project  - Coroglen Tavern 

29 December, 6pm - 11pm at the Coroglen Tavern

Made up of Wellington jazz school mates, bassist Sam Thomson, saxophonist Shaan Singh, drummer Matt Beachen, and guitarist Ben O'Leary, the band has cultivated a strong following since their debut as buskers just a few years ago.

This year they released their first full album, self-titled and featuring well known hits such as Woke Up Late and the Six60 collaboration Catching Feelings.

Shapeshifter at Joe's Farm in Whangamata

Joe's Farm is a special place, a quiet river valley situated just minutes away from the beach, surrounded by rolling hills and big skies.  It sits perfectly as a rural gateway to the coast, a short shuttle ride away is one of the country's most popular surf beaches,  Whangamata.  Farm owner Joe Adams has opened the farm gates to allow recreational access to the 500 plus acres providing an exciting new addition to New Zealand greenfield venues.

Sticky Fingers - Coroglen Tavern

Rave Renunion - Coroglen Tavern

It's been about 15 years since these shows started at the Coroglen Tavern, and a good few years since one was held. 

This was the start of many musical adventures for all the acts and it was these shows that helped kick start a big bass music movement in Aotearoa, so we thought we should get the band back together and have a reunion.

If you were at one of these shows back in the day, then you know how they went down, if you weren't, then come along and experience NZ's finest bass music pioneers in all their glory.

The Leadfoot Festival

8 and 9 February 2020

A unique weekend on the New Zealand and international calendar that brings together a unique mix of classic cars, vintage motorcycles and motorsport legends. Thames Market - Every Saturday 8am - 12noon - Pollen Street, Grahamstown. Head down to the Thames Market this weekend. Don't forget to bring your own bag, basket or box to the Thames Market, plastic carry bags are not available.

Tairua Market - The first Saturday of every month, you will find a collection of stalls and produce right by the harbour next to the one-lane bridge on the Tairua Main Road from 9am -1pm.

Coromandel Town Homegrown Community Market - Every Friday morning on Wharf Road beside the BNZ bank you will find an array of local, homegrown produce and crafts for sale. 

Whangamata Sunday Market  - Held in the heart of the Whangamata township in the Council carpark on Port Rd from 9am - 1pm, selling goods from arts and crafts to produce. To see the dates for winter click here .

Whitianga Ars and Crafts Market – Held weekly on Saturdays from 9am – noon from Labour Weekend to Easter.  The market is centrally located in Soldiers Memorial Park featuring locally made art, crafts and home-made produce.

Coroglen Farmers Market – Held weekly on Sundays from 9am – noon from Labour weekend through to Easter. You will find quality local organic seasonal produce and check out the handcraft stalls and grab a hot drink or some home-made goodies at the Coroglen hall.

Coastal Collective Market - A market held on the below Saturdays at Cooks Beach shops with a curated selection of stallholders, showcasing the small business of the Mercury Bay Area. The next market is on Labour Weekend, 26 October from 1pm-4pm.
