Calling Coromandel exhibitors for Auckland Food Show 2018 14 February 2018 If you've got your own local, homegrown artisan food or beverage products and want the opportunity to promote your wares to more than 30,000 people - we want to hear from you. (Photo: The Auckland Food Show 2017) We're back at the Auckland Food Show for 2018 with our Coromandel Beach House stand. The Food Show runs from 26-29 July and our stand has space for potentially up to five exhibitors to be involved. "This will be the fourth year we've been involved in the Auckland Food Show and feedback from previous exhibitors we've taken with us is that it's a really good opportunity to market and sell your products, network and make business contacts," says Laurna White our Communications Group Manager. The Auckland Food Show has helped put the Coromandel on the map as a food and event destination and also gives a chance to market our Coromandel Food Trail Guide. Some of the local businesses that have been involved in previous years include Castle Rock Café chutneys, sauces and jams, Matatoki Cheese Barn, Thames Valley Bacon, Omahu Valley Citrus and Coromandel Brewing Company. Late last year we hosted our first ever Coromandel Food Forum attended by restaurant and café owners, hospitality and tourism industry experts, craft beer brewers, winemakers and local homegrown artisan food producers "We are now wanting to gauge interest on whether this should become a regular calendar event, where guest speakers are invited to share advice and provide help and information to the industry," says Mrs White. Photo Above: Cakes by the Ocean at our 207 Coromandel Food Forum 'We also want to see if there's enough support to formalise the Coromandel Food Collective to a membership of the local food and beverage industry, so they can meet more regularly, look at shared opportunities and discuss issues or problems that they are all facing that could be solved as a collective," says Mrs White. Council's role would be to facilitate getting the Collective together and helping to put them in touch with the best organisations and contacts. At last year's Food Forum speakers from Food Waikato (Waikato Innovation Park), Export NZ, NZ Trade and Enterprise (NZTE) and Auckland Tourism Events and Economic Development (ATEED) gave presentations on how they can provide support, resources, business mentors and access to funding opportunities to food related businesses and industry on the Coromandel.
