Invitation to register your business at the 2019 Coromandel/Hauraki Business and Careers Expo

26 June 2019

“Showcase your business to our amazing youth talent” Thursday 8 August 2019 9am to 2.30pm Thames Civic Centre

Businesses from Thames and the wider Coromandel and Hauraki areas are invited to participate in CAN DO 2019. This event in its fourth year focuses on matching the youth of our Coromandel and Hauraki areas with businesses to create pathways for employment. We invite businesses to showcase what they do (business activity) to our youth and to put their best foot forward to attract youth to stay and work in the regions.

Adults looking for work are also welcome to come along and check out job opportunities.

There are 64 spaces so be in quick. Businesses can individually hire a space or combine with others for a space.

Cost:

Businesses: $100

Volunteer Groups: $20

Registration Date: Enrol now, registration closes on the 15 July.

Registration:  Please register your interest at www.candothames.co and spaces will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

Payment confirms your space, information for exhibitors is on the website and methods of payment.

Space Requirements:

In registering to buy a space at the CAN DO Expo, space holders agree to do the following. All spaces must:

1. Provide an interactive activity or giveaway showcasing your business: These are our youth and your future employees. Let’s engage their creativity and show what your business does in a fun way. For example, we have had mechanics with cutaway motors and Banks with interactive apps.

2. Have a minimum of one person to staff the display space at all times: We recommend two people per space given the number of students coming through. We want to avoid static displays where no one is present.

3. Interact with the students: Share your passion for your business or industry by interacting positively with students and we suggest avoiding areas where the adults just talk to each other and avoid the students.  A young apprentice as part of your crew is always welcome.

We will be providing a prize for the space with the most creative display and interactive experience.
