SH25 Whangamata to Whiritoa closed Wednesday morning

09 October 2018

NZ Transport Agency has told our Council that State Highway 25 between Whangamata and Whiritoa will be closed to traffic in both directions from 9am to about 12:30pm tomorrow morning (Wednesday 10 October) to recover a crashed truck.

Detours will be in place in each direction via SH25, SH2, SH26, SH25A & SH25 (and vice versa).

Emergency Services vehicles will be given access through the site wherever practicable but please be aware that this will not be available at all times due to the size of the recovery machinery.

Electronic display boards at Paeroa, Hikuai, Totara and Te Puna are advising of the closure.  The ‘road closure’ sign boards at Hikuai, Whangamata and Waihi will be updated tomorrow morning to advise of the closure.

For information about state highways, see the NZTA website.

Our Council will post information about any issues that affect Council roads on this website, Facebook page and email newsletters.
