Want to run a commercial mobile business this summer?

17 September 2019

If you’re wanting to run a coffee cart, food truck or any sort of mobile commercial business from one of our council’s parks and beach reserves this summer – we need to hear from you now.

Applications for commercial concessions take time to process, so to make sure you don’t miss out on getting your application looked at – contact us now, as there are limited spaces.
We have an application form which you can fill out online and submit here.

“The more details you can give us around what you want to do, for how long and on what site, help us with processing,” says Derek Thompson our council’s Community Facilities Manager. “Consider what other similar activities may be going on around where you want to set up, and if there is already business within proximity of your preferred location”.

Our Council has already approved various commercial licences on or over Council beaches and reserves across our District, for a term of two years from 1 July 2018 to 30 June 2020. But if you are still interested in putting in an application, fill out the form and get in touch with us, as there are still opportunities out there.

Once an application has been received and approved for submission it is presented to the local community board for endorsement, before getting official sign-off by our Council.

The next round of council and community board meetings are scheduled for after the 12 October local body election, so it’s a good time to get an application in now to meet the new community board rounds.

“If you leave it till later, there’s a high possibility that you may not get a concession granted in time for Christmas,” says Mr Thompson.
